• Signs of hope: The realisation by many communities around the world that we need genuine connection and social cohesion to create real safety and security. The realisation by activists that our anti-oppression movements are all connected.
• Potential Threats: If we don't take action on climate change, and if the action that is taken is primarily focussed on securing the rich and powerful as opposed to creating safety and equality for all, then we will have a future in which chaos from climate and environmental events is dealt with through authoritarian and militarised solutions, increased surveillance and border violence. These measures will inevitably be used against everyone and would prop up authoritarian practices. There will be a backlash to these practices, creating more chaos.
